Girls

Sunday 20th April 2008

Coaching at the club at 12. Please be there early so we can start on time.

girlsTo access the Cirencester RFC's Girls website please follow the link - http://www.cirencestergirls.org.uk/ where you will find information about contacts, coaching and fixtures for the Girls Section.

The club runs an U/18's girls team which accommodates U/16, U/17 and U/18's and we also run an U/15's team which accommodates U/12, U/13, U/14 and U/15.

At present we are looking to build up a squad with a spectrum of ages so as to cement its future. The squad have currently 2 County representatives and we will be looking to build on that success.

The ethos followed is that we will be developing all the girls rugby skills in all aspects of the game. The girls will play full contact rugby at both age groupings and are playing a full 15 a-side game.

Training sessions and matches are organised throughout the season so that skill levels and concentrated coaching can be gradually introduced into more competitive game-time. The philosophy strongly adhered to in the Girls Section at CRFC is that enjoyment and participation come before winning. Obviously with the range of ages, training and games have to be carefully organised and monitored.

The season runs from September through to the end of April with the playing membership coming from the surrounding area.

We are working closely with the girls section of Minety Rugby Club, and the girls get together on Sundays for games and coaching.

Training is on Wednesdays from 5:00pm till 6:30pm at Kingshill school during the season. Games or training are also arranged on Sunday early afternoons starting around 1:00pm.

As well as all the coaches being RFU qualified to a minimum of Level 1 so also are the Club referees who officiate in matches and all of the main CRFC coaching staff have CRB clearance. There are also trained individuals in first aid on hand.
