Update on Bar Manager and Food

The club would like to announce that Leigh Griffiths has decided to take a step back from the club to concentrate on his other business which has been taking more of his time. Leigh feels that he is unable to devote the time and effort that the role merits. He will still stay involved in the club as a sponsor and VP and will help out when he can, so we will still see him around.
We wish him all the best and thank him for the work that he has done over the last couple of seasons.
Mandy Fisher will assume the role of Bar Manager from December and will be supported in the background for a time by Leigh.
Whilst this is a complete change for Mandy she is very enthusiastic about the role and looking forward to the challenge.
The Exec committee are pleased with the appointment and would ask you all to please give her your support.
For the foreseeable future Rez Aminnia has volunteered to continue to prepare match food for Saturdays and Sundays and food for after training on a Thursday. This marks a departure from the way catering has been handled and funded previous to this season and the club will be reviewing this on an ongoing basis to ensure all parties are happy.

Cirencester 2nd XV 28 – Tetbury 1st XV 0 (8th Nov. 2014)

Cirencester entertained Tetbury in a friendly fixture on Saturday with an early kick off agreed to allow both teams time for a shower before watching the England v NZ game in the clubhouse.
Conditions were far from ideal with a strong wind and driving rain. Despite this the pitch was in good condition and allowed for some excellent rugby.

CRFC in Wilts and Glos Standard

Nice write up in the Wilts and Glos Standard about the unveiling of the new electronic scoreboard

This Weekend @ CRFC

This Saturday 1st November Cirencester RFC and Theakstons will be unveiling a new scoreboard on the 1st XV pitch in memory of Ashley Scrivens on what would have been his 25th Birthday.
This will take place at 2pm prior to the game between Cirencester 1st XV and Whitehall 1st XV which kicks off at 2.30pm.
Ashleys family will be joining us after interring his ashes at a private ceremony in the morning.
The CRFC Under 15 squad, who Ashley helped to coach, will form a guard of honour prior to the start of the match.
All of Ashley's friends are welcome to come along for the unveiling and the game and are welcome to join us as guests of the club for the evening when the we will host our annual 'Captains Night'.
The Ukeleles will entertain us in the early evening, there will be lots of games and fun followed by a silent disco.
Food will be available to purchase (details to follow)...
The family will also be lighting 25 candle bags at 9pm in memory of Ashley.

We hope to see you there.

Cirencester Colts Jack Lister & Sam Johnson representing Gloucestershire U18's yesterday vs Berkshire. They shared the scrum-half duties

Played at  Bristol Grammar School grounds in front of the South West selectors, the game was played at frenetic pace with end-to-end action and plenty of tries.

Berkshire were eventual winners 26-19 after a last-minute interception.

Jack also played for the 2nds on Saturday!
